In my opinion, video is a much better alternative then film. First of all, Though the equipment for video is initially more expensive then film equipment, it is much cheaper in the long run. It's easier to edit, as you can just record over not-needed scenes, and does not take as much work to learn.

I believe that in the future, the majority if Hollywood and independent films will be shot with video because of cost, picture, and the freedom of being able to screw up. My argument starts with the high cost of making a movie with a film based camera because not only do you have to pay for the high cost of the equipment which includes camera, mic, and film which at the cheapest prices cost way more than a video. Then there is the fact that the modern day video cameras make better picture than the film but to most people eyes the video camera looks fake which i think people will eventually get over. Finally the last fact is that you have the freedom to screw up because with film every time you screw up your wasting more film and with that more cost. So with these three facts is the reason that i believe that video will be the future of Hollywood.

I like video because it looks better to me I don't like the way film looks all fuzzy and lines running through the picture video is better cause it looks more realistic than film.

In my own opinion I would rather work with video than film, because video can work under extreme conditions, such as very bad weather while film can't; also, film is more expensive than video. Another thing about why I would choose video over film is, because even with the best 35mm film it will still be slightly inferior to the best video, assuming the latest professional-quality video equipment is used and the final result is broadcast. In the near future video or digital imaging will soon be replacing film, and film in motion picture work for primetime TV productions. This move will eventually effect both sides (video and film), because of Aesthetic issues. The transition to video is being driven by pure economics, and technology.

I think that video will replace film because it is much better and has more things that it does than film.
